This is what the books look like inside: short chapters, explained calmly, and a worksheet at the end of each one so your home's plan writes itself as you go.
Worksheet H-01
What you already have at home
Walk round the house with this list. Tick what you find, note where it is and what state it's in. Don't buy anything yet: chapter 5 will tell you in what order.

Chapter 01
What being prepared really means
Being prepared means being able to carry on with a reasonably normal life for a few days when something goes wrong outside your home. It's not about having a bunker or living glued to the news. It's knowing what you'd do, having the basics to hand and making sure everyone at home knows too.
The reality is much more boring, and much more useful. The emergencies that really affect a home in Spain are power cuts, heatwaves, storms, floods, wildfires near built-up areas and water cuts. Most last hours or a few days.
We didn't need a bunker. We needed a torch, a radio, a charged battery, some cash and a five-line plan.
